How to Approach This Task
Dear Students,
Unlike Task 1, this activity allows you to be creative. However, creativity alone is not enough. At the C2 level, the examiner expects a well-structured narrative, a rich variety of vocabulary, sophisticated sentence structures, and an engaging style.
A successful narrative should:
- capture the reader’s attention from the very beginning;
- describe events in chronological order;
- include emotions and reflections;
- vary sentence structures;
- conclude with a meaningful reflection.
Remember, you are not simply telling a story—you are demonstrating your mastery of written French.
Step-by-Step Writing Plan
Introduction
Introduce the event and explain why it was significant.
Development
Describe:
- the atmosphere;
- the ceremony;
- your emotions;
- interactions with friends and family.
Reflection
Explain what this achievement means for your future.
Conclusion
Finish with a memorable sentence that leaves a lasting impression.

L’obtention de mon diplôme universitaire restera, sans l’ombre d’un doute, l’un des moments les plus mémorables de mon existence. Après plusieurs années d’efforts soutenus, de sacrifices personnels et de travail acharné, cette journée représentait bien davantage qu’une simple cérémonie : elle symbolisait l’aboutissement d’un rêve longtemps poursuivi.
Dès mon arrivée sur le campus, une atmosphère à la fois solennelle et festive régnait. Les étudiants, vêtus de leurs toges, échangeaient leurs derniers souvenirs tout en immortalisant ces instants précieux aux côtés de leurs proches. Quant à moi, j’éprouvais un mélange d’impatience, de gratitude et d’une légère appréhension.
Lorsque mon nom fut enfin prononcé, le temps sembla s’arrêter quelques instants. En montant sur l’estrade afin de recevoir mon diplôme, je pris soudainement conscience du chemin parcouru, des difficultés surmontées et des nombreuses personnes qui m’avaient accompagné tout au long de cette aventure.
À l’issue de la cérémonie, ma famille, mes amis et moi nous sommes retrouvés autour d’un déjeuner chaleureux. Nous avons évoqué les souvenirs les plus marquants de mes années universitaires ainsi que les nombreux projets qui m’attendaient désormais.
Aujourd’hui encore, cette journée demeure gravée dans ma mémoire. Bien plus qu’un simple diplôme, elle représente la preuve que la persévérance, la discipline et la passion permettent de transformer les ambitions les plus audacieuses en réalité.
