Dear Students,
The following course outline has been created both as an example of how you can navigate the French Language B course and as a guide for your learning throughout Year 2. You can find out more about the units of inquiry and featured text types by exploring the corresponding resources provided during the course.
As we progress through the year, you will study a variety of themes, develop your language skills, and practice different text types that are essential for success in IB French Language B.

What I expect from you
Throughout the year, I expect you to:
- Participate actively in class discussions.
- Use French as much as possible during lessons.
- Develop your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
- Explore Francophone cultures with curiosity and respect.
- Practise the conventions of different text types regularly.
- Apply feedback to improve your language proficiency.
- Prepare consistently for assessments, the Individual Oral, and the final examination.
By the end of Year 2, you should feel confident discussing all the prescribed themes, using a variety of text types, and communicating effectively in French in preparation for your IB assessments.
