1. Let’s Begin – What Can You Already Say?

You have already learned how to introduce yourself.

You can say:

Bonjour !
Je m’appelle Emma.
J’ai onze ans.
Je suis française.
J’habite à Paris.
Je parle français et anglais.
Je suis sympathique.
J’aime le football.

Today, you will learn how to ask someone questions and answer them.

Think of it like a conversation:

Question → Answer → Question → Answer

2. What Is a Question?

A question is a sentence we use when we want information.

For example:

Comment tu t’appelles ?
→ What is your name?

The person answers:

Je m’appelle Emma.

Then you can ask:

Quel âge as-tu ?
→ How old are you?

The person answers:

J’ai onze ans.

3. Your Six Important Questions

You already know most of the vocabulary in these questions. Today, we are putting everything together.

Remember!

When someone asks you a question, try to answer with a complete sentence.

❌ Emma
✅ Je m’appelle Emma.

❌ Onze ans
✅ J’ai onze ans.

❌ Paris
✅ J’habite à Paris.

4. Questions About You – TU

When you are speaking directly to one person, you can use tu.

Look at the patterns:

Comment tu t’appelles ?
→ Je m’appelle…

Quel âge as-tu ?
→ J’ai… ans.

Où habites-tu ?
→ J’habite à…

Quelle langue parles-tu ?
→ Je parle…

Qu’est-ce que tu aimes ?
→ J’aime…

The word tu means you when speaking to one person informally.

5. Asking About Another Person – IL / ELLE

What happens when we talk about someone else?

We use:

il = he
elle = she

Look at the difference:

Talking directly to Emma:

Quel âge as-tu ?
→ J’ai onze ans.

Talking about Emma:

Quel âge a-t-elle ?
→ Elle a onze ans.

You do not need to memorize every question immediately. Focus first on recognizing the difference between tu and il/elle.
