Dear Students,
As we approach the end of the DP2 course, it is time to begin preparing for your IB DP French Ab Initio Final Examination. During the next 8–10 weeks, our focus will shift from learning new content to revising, consolidating, and practising the skills required for the official IB examinations.
The IB assessments evaluate your knowledge across all five prescribed themes, so we will revisit each theme while developing the skills needed for Paper 1, Paper 2, and the Individual Oral (IO).
I encourage you to revise consistently, participate actively in class, and complete all the practice activities. Regular practice will help you build confidence and perform at your best on examination day.
Goal
By the end of this revision programme, you should be able to:
- communicate confidently across all five prescribed themes;
- understand authentic written texts;
- write all IB Paper 1 text types;
- analyse visual stimuli for the Individual Oral;
- apply grammar accurately;
- use a wide range of vocabulary in context.

- identify the prescribed theme;
- explain the message;
- connect the image to your own experiences;
- answer follow-up questions confidently.
Oral practice
Complete one full mock Individual Oral during each lesson.
Week 8 – Paper 1 Intensive
This week is dedicated entirely to Paper 1.
Practise writing the following text types:

Remember to write under timed examination conditions.
Week 9 – Paper 2 Intensive

This revision programme has been carefully designed to help you succeed in the IB DP French ab initio Final Examination. If you revise consistently, complete all the practice activities, and actively participate in class, you will strengthen your language skills and build the confidence needed for the examinations.
Remember that success does not come from studying everything at the last minute. It comes from regular practice, perseverance, and a positive attitude.
