Welcome to Formative Assessment 2 (FA2) for IB MYP French Unit 0.
This is a more advanced version of your first assessment, designed to help you:

- Understand deeper meanings
- Use past tenses more accurately
- Express emotions and personal experiences in detail
What Makes FA2 Different?
This assessment is more challenging than FA1.
You will need to:
- Identify main ideas and details
- Understand changes over time
- Use imparfait and passé composé together
- Explain feelings and reactions
Assessment Structure
A — Listening (20 marks)
You will listen to a more detailed story about childhood.
Focus on:
- Context (where, when)
- Actions vs habits
- Emotional meaning
B — Reading (20 marks)
You will read a longer text and:
- Identify personality traits
- Understand change and development
- Analyse meaning (not just find words)
D — Language (10 marks)
Grammar focus:
- Imparfait (background, description)
- Passé composé (events)
- Time markers (quand, un jour, pendant que)
- Sentence structure
C — Writing (30 marks)
You will write a short narrative (60–80 words).
You must include:
- Imparfait (description)
- Passé composé (event)
- At least 2 emotions
- Time markers (quand, un jour, etc.)

Childhood Activities
- jouer → to play
- passer du temps → to spend time
- aller à l’école → to go to school
Emotions
- heureux / heureuse → happy

- stressé(e) → stressed
